John is the owner of The Vine Landscaping. He served globally in the US Air Force and now a local Hampton Roads resident with his wife, Rachel, and three children.

A proud veteran of the US Air Force, John's journey into entrepreneurship began with a divine calling in 2020, when he felt led by God to start mowing lawns. Little did he know that this humble beginning would blossom into the thriving business that The Vine Landscaping is today.

A graduate of Ferrum College with a BA in Business, John combines his military discipline with a deep commitment to personal and professional growth. He has a passion for teaching and empowering his team of employees, instilling in them the values of excellence, integrity, and service. As a family man himself, with a loving wife of 7 years and three children, John understands the importance of building strong relationships and creating a supportive work environment that feels like family.

Beyond his business acumen, John is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys spending time hunting, reading, and soaking in the beauty of nature. He believes in the power of continuous learning and personal development, investing in extensive training in leadership and management to grow himself and his business every day.

Production Manager

With over twenty years of experience in the construction business, Nate Heltman brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his role as Production Manager. Throughout his career, Nate has developed extensive skills in various aspects of the industry, allowing him to provide on-site and proactive solutions that ensure 100% client satisfaction. As a proven Project Manager with years of customer service experience, Nate is dedicated to delivering a friendly, high-quality experience to every customer, every time.

Nate is a key asset to our team, known for his unwavering dedication and genuine care for each job and client. His focus and passion drive him to consistently exceed expectations, ensuring the highest standards of quality and service.

Nate's favorite aspect of his job is helping clients transform their existing landscaping into the landscapes of their dreams. His commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction makes him an invaluable member of our team.

Beyond his professional life, Nate has been a musician for thirty years, showcasing his creativity and passion for the arts. He is also a movie enthusiast, with "Forrest Gump" and "Step Brothers" ranking among his favorite films.

Aly Wical
Office Manager

Aly Wical brings a decade of diverse experience and expertise to our team as the Office Manager. With a robust background that includes 4 years of administrative work, 8 years in logistics, and 10 years of customer service, Aly has developed a well-rounded skill set. Originally from Richmond, VA, she now calls Newport News, VA her home.

Aly is a key asset to our team, playing a crucial role in supporting the technical aspects of our administrative operations. Her intelligence and proficiency in her craft ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of our office. Beyond her professional capabilities, Aly's amazing laugh and joyful presence bring a positive energy to our workplace, making her an invaluable member of our team.

Outside of work, Aly enjoys spending time with her beloved dog, Suki. She is also an artist who loves creating abstract paintings and nature landscapes. Her commitment to excellence and supportive nature make her a standout member of our organization.
